Associate Project Manager

AIT is a Plano-based manufacturing firm specializing in aerospace factory automation, including the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of turnkey aircraft assembly automation systems, and has an immediate need for Associate Project Managers to join our team. The Associate Project Manager is responsible for communicating project information to stakeholders while monitoring and controlling project scope schedule and budget throughout the life cycle of the project.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing detailed plans for fabrication, installation and validation of production tooling systems.
  • Project schedule creation and continued maintenance
  • Responds to inquiries from project stakeholders across a global organization
  • Develop, monitor, and report project budgets
  • Approve and disposition non-conforming products from fabrication, electrical programming, and mechanical design activities
  • Coordinate purchasing of components with internal manufacturing, external suppliers and vendors including buy analysis
  • Responsible for approval and change of production processes

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing / engineering related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analysis, research, and problem solving
  • Self-starter able to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Project 
  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance for ITAR project requirements

Additional Preferred Skills

  • 3D graphics software experience such as SolidWorks, Catia and NX
  • Proficient in typing and using personal computer
  • Experience in an aerospace or tooling manufacturing environment

Experience & General Characteristics

  • Understanding of mechanical design principles
  • Understanding of aircraft structures, materials and processes
  • Understanding of fabrication processes common to the manufacture of tooling, including welding, stress relief, forming, machining
