Job Description – Project Manager
As an integral part of the AITS team, the successful candidate will lead the design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, startup, and commissioning of very large-scale automated aerospace assembly systems.
As a Project Manager, you will take a lead role working with other engineers to develop tooling and automated system concepts and designs. Experience in one or more of the following is required: Machine Design, Aerospace Tooling Assembly Systems, and Factory Automation. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of responsibility and motivation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed plans for fabrication, installation and proving of tooling systems
- Approval of fabrication, electrical programming and design activities
- Manage projects, project tasks, and assigned duties
- In response to a Customer Specification, collate concept models to define a detailed plan of system, process, and sequence of operations for bid proposals
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Understanding of fabrication processes common to the manufacture of tooling, including welding, stress relief, forming, machining.
- Understanding of 5-axis, conventional machining, and machine programming
- Ability to complete projects on time and within budget
- Must be client-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful and creative, with good technical and communication skills
Background: Experience and Education
- Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline
- Six to eight years experience in aircraft assembly tools, or related area
