Job Description – Project Manager

As an integral part of the AIT team, the successful candidate will lead the design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, startup, and commissioning of very large-scale automated aerospace assembly systems.

As a Project Manager, you will take a lead role working with other engineers to develop tooling and automated system concepts and designs. Experience in one or more of the following is required: Machine Design, Aerospace Tooling Assembly Systems, and Factory Automation. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of responsibility and motivation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the completion of long-term engineering, manufacturing, and integration projects
  • Perform engineering design evaluations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Information System policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage projects, project tasks, and assigned duties
  • Manage and review outsourced design and fabrication
  • In response to a Customer Specification, collate concept models to define a detailed plan of system, process, and sequence of operations for bid proposals

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Software - MS Office, MS Project
  • Broad-based understanding of tooling and aircraft structures
  • Ability to switch thought processes between aircraft manufacturing and tooling/automated system design and manufacturing, with extensive knowledge of fabrication, machining, metrology, and assembly processes
  • Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks
  • Ability to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Must be client-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful and creative, with good technical and communication skills
  • Strong project and personnel management skills Background: Experience and Education

Background: Experience and Education

  • Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline
  • Six to eight years experience in aircraft assembly tools, or related area

The ideal candidate will have strong written communication skills, the ability to quickly and effectively learn and apply new concepts, and perform as a team player.
