Job Description – Machine Support Technician

As an integral part of the AIT team, the successful candidate will be an active participant in the startup, user training and maintenance support of very large scale automated aerospace assembly systems.

The Machine Support Technician will help develop detailed equipment maintenance and support guidelines working directly with the customer to troubleshoot and solve issues in a timely manner.

The Machine Support Technician works closely with the Manufacturing, Application and Design groups and maintains this technical relationship throughout the customer-development cycle.

Job Skills and Knowledge:

• An electrical and mechanical technology background is essential.
• PLC, Software knowledge is also desired.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills, strong written communication skills, the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly, effectively and be a team player.

• Assist the customer in maintaining, user training and maintenance support of equipment.
• Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, project managers, and group members in defining system requirements, system support, system testing and preventive maintenance guidelines and scheduling.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, equipment support, and testing activities with multiple teams.
• Ensure high-quality product through internal testing and adherence to quality standards
• Continuously improve internal processes.
• Become familiar with aerospace processes (drilling, cutting tools, materials, methods, etc.).
• Build strong cross-functional and cross-divisional relationships with Manufacturing, Applications and Design groups

Background: Experience and Education

• Associates degree in electrical technology, mechanical technology or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and windows applications.
